A former escort who took part in sexual encounters with Diddy and Cassie during their relationship says Cassie always treated him with respect … but, he says it seemed like there were certain things she simply wasn’t allowed to do.
Shawn Dearing, who was among the over 10 men that prosecutors claim participated in so-called “freak-offs” with the former couple, appeared on “TMZ Live” Tuesday. He decided to speak out publicly now that his identity has been revealed during the ongoing legal proceedings.
Dearing spoke highly of Cassie, noting that she always approached him with genuine kindness and respect. He recalled a moment when she complimented his “energy,” a comment he says helped him during a difficult period in his life and left a lasting impression.
Still, Dearing noticed something else — Cassie appeared aware of certain limitations. He observed that whenever Diddy stepped out of the room, Cassie would quickly end conversations, as though she was not permitted to continue speaking freely.
According to Dearing, Cassie came off as someone real and down-to-earth, and he sensed she wanted to connect more. However, he believes her loyalty or fear of Diddy held her back from expressing herself openly when Diddy wasn’t present.
Shawn made it a point to clarify that he never witnessed any physical abuse during his time around the pair. And even though there were moments when the two left the room together, he says he never tried to listen in or find out what was happening behind closed doors.
Meanwhile, testimony continued Wednesday in Diddy’s federal case, including statements from a former security chief at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles. The staffer claimed he and others received a $100,000 payout from Diddy in exchange for covering up a video showing Cassie allegedly being assaulted.
As for Dearing, he insists he never saw that side of Diddy and Cassie’s relationship firsthand — though he ends his interview by recalling a moment when it felt like Diddy was trying to mess with his mind.
